A1 – A2

This course.

In the A1-A2 course you will learn how to understand, speak and read Dutch on an experienced beginner level.

You will learn many things about Dutch society and all the practical ways to communicate in it. Situations like looking for work, socializing, visiting the hospital and contacting the local government. Topics like Dutch history, the school system, geography and many other things about Dutch culture and society.

Your classes.

During your classes, you will get practical instructions and you will work in small groups, in pairs or with your teacher on assignments and your homework. You will develop your speaking, reading, writing and listening until A2 level.

The teachers.

Our teachers are always experienced and trained professionals. They understand your individual learning needs and style and they motivate and guide you in the learning process. Their aim is to teach you all the practical Dutch language skills you need to live and work in The Netherlands. There is an open and friendly atmosphere in all our classes and students work together under close supervision from the teacher.

After completing the course, you can:

The result

Listening

You can understand phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary. You can catch the main points in short, clear and simple messages and announcements.

Reading

You can read short, simple texts. You can find specific information in everyday material such as advertisements, menus and timetables and can understand short, simple personal letters.

Speaking

You can communicate in simple and routine tasks on familiar topics and activities. You can handle short social exchanges, but it is still difficult for you to keep the conversation going.

Writing

You can write short, simple notes and messages. You can write a simple personal letter, for example thanking someone for something.

Practical Information.

We teach using the fully digital  “Link” method. You can study easily without any previous knowledge of Dutch.

To improve the most, you will have to do about 2-3 hours of homework per week. The teacher will monitor your progress and discusses this with you.

  • Regular: 7-8 weeks/two times per week.
  • Intensive: 4 weeks/four times per week
  • Group size:  maximum 5-8 students

What is my level?

If you are not sure which level you have to study you can make an appointment to do a placement test. Our teachers will discuss the results and advise you on the best course. Please contact us here.

Certificate

All students that have actively participated in at least 80% of the classes will receive a certificate.
